The second plantation was called “Catalpa” and was owned by Mary Thompson, a descendant of Martha and Daniel Turnbull who had built Rosedown. Mary lived in the house and she and her friend served as tour guides. At this point Ken had given up trying to use his fogged over D-SLR and was using Virginia’s point-and-shoot for shots like this one of the piano.
